The Good, The Bad...and The Downright Ugly

The Good
Trousers Yes, interestingly, trousers are back. Cords, Peg Legs (I'll stop going on about them soon I promise), Hareem pants...everywhere! Im loving the khaki cargo pant that keeps popping up at the moment a la Victoria and Cheryl. River Island have a great selection: for those with perfect pins try the 'Biker Skinny' at £39.99. For the rest of us, there are some great loose shapes on there that hide all manner of sins.

The Bad
Crop Tops No, no, no! This trend just keeps on persisting, is it just me or is everybody over it? If you must, wear with high waisted bottoms only.

The Downright Ugly
So many legging faux pas so little time... From slashed sides to the dreaded camel toe display (if you dont know this term, google it, i'd rather not elaborate)who knew the staple black legging could be turned into such a range of crimes against fashion? Two rules of legging use: 1) Keep them in one piece- no holes, slashes, rips or tears, or you will look like the one in Pretty Woman who didn't end up with Richard Gere. And 2) please, for the love of not committing indecent exposure, cover anything that isn't classed as your leg.

Pick up a Bargain

ASOS is throwing a mid season sale at the minute, with loads of items for under £20. I recommend the oversized Tshirts priced between £6-10, once you own one of these, you'll never take it off.

How To Wear: perfect for everything from beachwear to evening wear. For a daytime or casual look, pair with denim shorts and gladiators as the sun comes out, or with skinny jeans, heels and a blazer.
In the evening, wear loosely tucked in to statement bottoms: leather or sequin skirts, silk peg leg trousers, anything you can get you're hands on.
The possibilities are endless....

Its not just ASOS that offer the opportunity for a bargain or two, I personally can't WAIT for the outnet.com's massive £1 sale on friday. If you haven't registered already, do it now! From Oscar de la Renta to Marc Jacobs to Chloe, all for less than a bag of posh crisps, you cannot afford to miss this, but you definatly CAN afford to indulge!

New Season, New You

We did it.
We made it through a dismal winter of snow, slush, rain and recession; spring is here and its time to hit the highstreet.

Personally, nothing put a smile on my face quite like the sight of Chanel's latest innovation, the high heeled clog. Fresh from the catwalk and straight to the toes of everyone from Alexa to the Olsens, they are already a must have for spring/summer.

Chanel's, while achingly covetable, are priced at over £700, so for those with slightly (or excessively) less cash to splash, try Topshop's "Lottie" tribute, at £65, or Office's Justa Lotta Love at £60.

Avoid River Island's open-toed versions, which hark of cruise-ship 'glamour' circa 1985.

How To Wear: Despite their many charms, they're indesputably clumpy, so pair with something fresh and flowing...think along the lines of a high waisted A-line skirt, or cropped peg leg trousers, with a slubby t-shirt and chunky studded bangle.
